WHY MINISTRY OF COMMERCE INTRODUCED THIS APPLICATION?

According to Arab News, the spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Hussein, said that the stores need a license to give discounts, and it should clearly be shown to the consumers.

Other requirements set by the Ministry include discounting and identifying the product’s price before and after the reduction. Also, the Ministry monitors prices to ensure that there are no fraudulent or misleading advertisements.

Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Hussein said that users could scan the discount bar code on the ‘Sales’ application to check offers and discounts.

WHY SHOULD YOU USE IT?

The spokesperson urged the consumers to ensure the reliability of the online store through the Ministry’s website or ‘reputable’ platform so that they do not fall prey to fraud.

A student at Princess Noura University told Arab News: “The method of checking discounts is the most reliable. It is no longer a matter of stickers. or another. These cuts are more reliable than ever.

Muhammad Mubarak, a former employee of Saudi Aramco, said he was sceptical of some stores’ discounts while confirming that he had never used the ‘sales’ application.

“I was surprised at some unreasonable discounts at many stores,” he told Arab News.

FAHAD AL-BAQAMI REVIEW ABOUT THIS APPLICATION:

Fahad Al-Baqami, a member of the e-commerce committee at the Riyadh Chamber, emphasized the importance of informing consumers about real discounts.

“As a customer, you have to enter the discount platform and check if the discount is valid.
Fahad al-Baqami noted the growing use of digital technology by service providers and said many people could complete transactions over the phone.
“It’s wonderful,” he said. It is not only in the commercial sector but also in education, medicine and other fields.
It provides more opportunities for business people and consumers to benefit from each other.
